How to recognize a quality handmade piece?
Share
Today, the word "craftsmanship" is everywhere. But how do you know if a piece is truly high quality? When you invest in a handmade creation, you're not just buying an object. You're buying time, expertise, precision, and a story.
For me, a quality handmade creation is recognized first and foremost by these few details:
1. The finishes and consistency make all the difference
A quality handmade piece is first recognized in the details.
* The stitches are even
* The knots and finishes are strong and discreet
* The ends are carefully tucked in
* The shape is very uniform
* No threads are loose
2. The choice of materials
Quality always starts with the raw material. A good yarn:
* Is durable
* Does not stretch excessively
* Does not pill with the slightest friction
* Retains its color over time
3. The creation time
A quality handmade piece is not made in a few minutes. Each step requires:
* Thought
* Trials
* Adjustments
* Sometimes even starting over
4. The intention behind the piece
For me, handmade is not just about making an object.
It's about creating with attention, patience, and sincerity.
Today, many projects are primarily driven by profitability.
For my part, I don't create solely to sell: each piece is born of my passion and the time I dedicate to it.
I pay attention to every detail, choose quality materials, and rework my creations until they feel right.
Beyond the object, I want to convey care, intention, and respect for true artisanal savoir-faire.
